I hope everyone will come to our precinct caucus on Tuesday, February 7. The time is 7 PM, and the location is Harding High School, 1540 E. Sixth St. For maps, just go to this link:

I hope to see as many people there as possible. We'll be having a straw vote for the Presidential race, and will be selecting delegates to the Senate District Convention, along with electing precinct officers.

It's a good idea to come a little early, so you can find the room and get settled in before the caucus is convened.

We had great success in Ward 6 and in the City of Saint Paul. All the DFL-endorsed candidates for the Saint Paul School Board won seats on the School board, and DFL-endorsed Dan Bostrom won his seat on the city council. Sadly, turnout was fairly low, but the results were excellent. Stay tuned to this Precinct W-6 P-13 blog as we move into 2012 and the very important elections that year.

Congratulations to Our Precinct

I'm a little late with this update, but I wanted to wait until the final results were in for the Governor's race. Everyone in W6 P13 should be congratulated for turning out and voting in November. We had a turnout of almost 60%, which is terrific in a mid-term election. You all did a great job.

Even better, DFL-endorsed candidates all won their races in our precinct, and handily, too, with some results reaching over 60% for DFL-endorsed candidates. You all showed your dedication to electing candidates who work for us, instead of candidates who work for the corporations and wealthy voters.

I'll be updating the links on this website in January, when winning candidates take their seats and have permanent websites. For now, though:

2010 Primary Election Results Are In

Thanks to everyone who turned out to vote yesterday, August 10. Every vote counted, and the results are now in. We have a great slate of DFL candidates for the November 2, 2010, but getting them elected will mean we all have to get to the polls and vote for DFL candidates.

Our precinct has a history of great election turnouts, and I'm sure we'll repeat that again in November. Thanks for all your support. Watch for DFL representatives walking through the precinct between now and November 2. They'll have literature from the candidates to share and will be happy to answer any of your questions about DFL candidates.

Primary Election Tomorrow! Please Vote!

Tomorrow, August 10, is the primary election for 2010. It's very important that all Democrats go to the polls and cast their vote to help choose those who will appear on the ballot in November.

Important primary races include the Governor's race, where three candidates are vying for the November ballot. In State Senate District 67, we have an important race for the seat being left by Mee Moua, who is not seeking re-election. There are multiple candidates, so your vote is very important in this race.

I encourage all voters in Precinct W-6 P-13 in Saint Paul to head for their polling place and vote tomorrow. Let's make our precinct one with a very high turnout again! If you're in this precinct, your polling place is the Hazel Park Academy, at 11:40 White Bear Avenue.

Results of Senate District 67 DFL Convention

Our convention was held today, beginning at 9 A. M. After procedural business and election of District Officers, the real reason we were there finally arrived - Selecting delegates and alternates to the DFL State Convention and the National Congressional District 4 Conventions, where a candidate for Governor of Minnesota will be endorsed, along with other statewide offices. The process went very smoothly.

Uncommitted delegates made up the bulk of the results, but Margaret Anderson Kelliher got two committed delegate to the state convention. R. R. Rybak and I believe one other candidate received a single delegate each.

This is party politics at its best, and I encourage all precinct W-6, P-13 residents to attend the next precinct caucuses and become delegates to the next Senate 67 District Convention in 2012. I'll be posting information on that when the time comes.

District Convention on Saturday, 3/13/2010

This Saturday, your precinct delegates will attend the 67th Senate District Convention, which runs all day. We'll be taking care of a lot of business, including voting on candidate endorsements, electing District leaders, and selecting delegates to the state convention in April.

W-6 P-13 Caucus Results - Feb. 2, 2010

The precinct met at the caucus last evening at Harding High School. Turnout was low, with only six people in attendance. Along with the straw vote for Governor, new precinct officers were elected. Robyn Madson submitted two resolutions, which were adopted by the caucus, unanimously.

Chao R. Lee conducted the caucus meeting very capably, as he did for the 2008 precinct caucus. Chao is a member of the State Senate District 67 Board of Directors, and lives in W-6 P-13.

The caucus also chose delegates to the Senate District Convention, to be held on March 13 at Harding High School. All six of the attendees will be representing our precinct at the Convention.
